Individual Coaching
Individual coaching is the heart of what I do. It’s just the two of us engaging in meaningful, often vulnerable, conversations about how to get what you want in your life.
When you engage in individual coaching, you’re committing to do a lot of hard work. To get the most out of it, you need to have a clear vision of where you want to go, or you need to be prepared to form that vision with my help in the first sessions. You are in charge—we go where you want us to go. I’m in your corner, providing perspective, insight, and encouragement. Only you can decide to do the work and make your goals happen.
If you have ADHD, it’s likely that a big blocker is not knowing where to start. We can discover that together! Something else that’s likely going to get in your way is the build up of shame and negative self-image that comes from living with an ADHD brain in a neurotypical world. So whether you like it or not, a lot of the work that we’re talking about is work on extending empathy to yourself and learning to love the authentic you that you find when you look for it. The best coaching isn’t about giving you tips and tools (though there’s that too!), it’s about shifting the way that you think and feel about things. The most powerful coaching helps you rewrite the narratives that you live by.
I start my process with new clients with a free consultation. That’s a 30-minute session where we can meet and talk about whether coaching sounds good. If we seem like a good fit and you want to learn more, I offer a free 60-minute “sample session”. The scare quotes are there because this initial work is never really like a session with an existing client. It’s an opportunity to get to know me as a coach. To see what kinds of things I notice and what kinds of questions I ask. To figure out whether we get along well enough to make building a trusted working relationship together worthwhile.
